I was tasked with designing the UI/UX for LocusLabs touchscreen kiosks used in diverse locations like airports, smart campuses, and casinos. These kiosks needed to fulfill various functions, with a primary focus on wayfinding.
To overcome the challenge of kiosks with fixed orientations, I designed a responsive UI that seamlessly adapts to both landscape and portrait modes. This flexibility ensures a smooth user experience for wayfinding, regardless of the kiosk's placement. It also caters to a diverse user base with varying needs and expectations, promoting accessibility.
Furthermore, for smart campuses, the system incorporates an intuitive room booking functionality. This streamlines meeting arrangements and allows for efficient space utilization, saving time and resources for students, faculty, and staff.
In essence, by implementing a responsive UI, increased accessibility features, and intuitive room booking functionality, the project resulted in a multifaceted improvement for LocusLabs. Users across various settings now experience greater satisfaction and ease of use.
